Questions, answered.
Straight answers about how SimpleUP works: what you buy, approving drafts, prices, cancelling and your data. Can’t find yours? Ask us.
Getting started
What exactly am I buying?
One job, done for your business every day, such as answering new enquiries or chasing overdue invoices. We set it up on a computer signed in to your tools, look after it, and you approve what it produces.
Do I have to buy a package?
No. Every job is priced on its own. Start with one and add more when you see it working. If you want several jobs together, we can package them for you.
How does setup work?
After you pay, we contact you to set up your jobs. Setup needs your help: access to the tools the job uses, and the information we ask for. The work starts when setup is complete.
Can I buy a job marked "Opening soon"?
Not yet. Leave your email on that job’s page and we will tell you the day it opens. Nothing is charged before then.
What if the job I need is not listed?
Please tell us. We will say honestly whether we can take it on, and what it costs. Bigger custom work, such as marketing, advertising or automation projects, is done under a separate agency agreement.
Approvals and AI
Will it send anything without asking me?
No. Replies, orders and reminders are drafts until you approve them. The only thing that happens straight away is a heads-up to you when something urgent comes in.
Where do I approve drafts?
In the Hub, our client portal, or in your email. You can approve, edit or discard each draft. Silence is never treated as approval.
Can some messages go out automatically?
Yes, if you choose. For some jobs, such as appointment reminders, you can switch on automatic sending. It is off unless you switch it on for that job, and you can switch it off at any time.
Is the writing done by AI? Can it be wrong?
Drafts are written with AI, which can make mistakes, invent details or misread a situation. That is why every draft waits for you: read it before you approve it.
What about live chat or phone agents?
A live agent answers in real time, so it cannot wait for you on each reply. Instead, you approve its script and knowledge before launch and any change after. It says it is an AI system when asked, and passes people to a person when it should.
Prices and billing
What currency are your prices in?
Canadian dollars. Prices do not include tax.
How is tax charged?
Tax is calculated at checkout from the province in your billing address and added to the price. Our GST/HST registration number is 809443641RT0001.
Can I pay monthly or yearly?
Either. You choose monthly or yearly billing for your whole plan at checkout. A yearly plan is billed in advance at the yearly price shown on each job.
What is a setup fee?
A one-time charge to set up a monthly job, shown on the job’s page. Setup fees and one-time jobs are charged once, on your first invoice. Setup fees apply to yearly plans too.
How do I pay?
By card, through Stripe. Stripe emails your receipts, and you can update your card or see invoices on your billing page.
Can prices go up?
We give at least 30 days’ notice by email before a price goes up. The new price applies from your next renewal after the notice ends, and you can cancel before then.
What happens if a payment fails?
Stripe tries your card again over the following days and we email you. If it is still unpaid 7 days after it was due, we pause your jobs until it is paid.
Cancelling and refunds
Can I cancel?
Yes, any job or your whole plan, in any month. There is no cancellation fee and no minimum term. Cancel from your billing page or by replying to any email from us. It takes effect at the end of the period you have already paid for.
Do you refund part of a month?
No. When you cancel a monthly plan, your jobs keep running to the end of the month you paid for, and you are not charged again.
Can I get my setup fee back?
If you cancel within 14 days of paying, and before your setup call, we refund the setup fee in full. Once setup work has started, it is not refundable.
What if I cancel a yearly plan?
We refund the unused months: the yearly price you paid, minus the monthly price for each month or part of a month you used. The details are in our Refunds and Cancellation Policy.
What if a one-time job is not right?
Tell us within 14 days of delivery if it does not match the job’s description, and we will fix it. The rounds of changes shown on the job’s page are included.
Your data and your tools
Where is my data?
In the tools you already use. The computer works inside them; it does not move your customer list somewhere new.
Who owns my content and customer data?
You do. We use it only to provide the services to you, and we do not use it to train our own AI models. Our Privacy Policy lists who helps us and where data is stored.
Can I take my data with me if I leave?
Yes. Ask for an export within 30 days after your last job ends. After that we delete it, except what the law requires us to keep. Data in your own accounts, such as your SimpleUP CRM or Google accounts, stays there.
What if I don’t use SimpleUP CRM?
Most jobs work with your email, calendar and website forms on their own. A few, like keeping your customer list up to date, need a CRM, and we can set that up too.
Which tools do the jobs work with?
SimpleUP CRM, Google Business Profile, Google and Microsoft email and calendars, and Facebook and Instagram, depending on the job. Each job’s page lists what it connects to.
